Wheat Harvest, Cisternino, Italy

This is a series of 10-12, very bright and colorful photographs of wheat harvest being carried out in a farm that belongs to my family. The wheat is organic and belongs to a genre of ancient grains. Traditional threshing machine was used to separate the grain from wheat stems The machinery used here is nostalgic and historic. The machinery is set up in our land ( in this case) but also our neighbors were welcomed to bring their “paglia” and use the machinery to harvest their own. Back in the days this used to be a very festive affair.
